Hey everyone! We’re the founders of Gamily. We are moving out of our early access phase, and into our official launch. We’ll be adding a membership model to the app, and wanted to share some of our thoughts about this next phase for Gamily.
Our Vision
Gamers are some of the most passionate, creative, and community minded people out there, but finding your people isn’t always easy. Our vision is to change that. We want to be the place where gamers find real connection. Our goal and our North Star is to provide gamers with a platform to find romance or even new friends and foster a gaming community.
Gamily started as a passion project between two gamers. Now we’re ready to build it into something bigger, without losing sight of the community that made it worth building. We haven’t taken the decision to introduce a membership model lightly. Our pivot from freemium to membership-based will make Gamily a viable, sustainable, gamer-centric app that puts your wants and needs first.
We want to run Gamily differently
Our goal is to avoid venture capture funding as much as we can. We want to stay in control of what we’re building, and we reject the idea of “growth at all costs”. We want to be responsible to you, our users, rather than a group of investors who demand we grow and push our products to maximize profits over people. We promise that we will continue to listen to the community and build the best app we can for gamers.
We don’t want to sell your data
As you know, the “freemium” model for apps has gotten out of control. “Free” apps these days are seldom actually free; they’re monetized through ads, tracking, and selling your data to brokers, etc. That’s not who we want to be. We value our users and their privacy.

Ad free, full access to Gamily: our community, all our features, and the ability to vote on what we build.
What will it cost?
We’re still building the community, and we hope you’ll be a part of building it with us. We’re launching an early membership at $2.99 a month for all current users. This price for early users will be locked in for the life of your membership. For new users, we still want to keep Gamily very competitive in pricing. We want to keep Gamily as affordable as possible to reach and match as many gamers as we can.
